20th Sept 2014

After what seemed like the longest flight ever, from Paul Richard to Austin, via Heathrow and Dallas, we finally arrived in one piece. However things didn't get off to a great start when the airline mislaid one of our bags, but thankfully we still had enough kit in our remaining luggage to work with........clean socks and underwear however was a different story. After three days and still no sign of the missing suitcase, a trip to Walmart for emergency supplies was in order.

We managed to squeeze in a day taking in the sights of Austin before our first assignment, so we took advantage of the free time and explored some of the city and shot some great images. First stop was the Bikini's Sports bar where we discovered the infamous America portions, and the great Texan hospitality.

It was a very warm and humid day, so after a massive lunch, we decided to spend most of it in the shade of the beautiful buildings. It was great to see the COTA flags flying featuring some of our images, and we were pleased there was a real sense of excitement about the coming race.

It was soon time to get back to work, and the next day we were assigned to a certain Aussie driver who was on a PR tour of the city......... can you guess who?

It was then back to the track where it was time to shoot the FIA WEC 6 Hours of CoTA. It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it......
